Butoniga Waterfalls

+ 2

If you take the road from Pazin towards Kršikla, not far from the turn for Cesari and Tončići, there is a small bus stop. If you go on foot towards the north, you can go down to Veli slap by a smaller path, but if you go south, the polish path leads to Mali slap.

These natural pearls are torrential waterfalls, which means that they run out of water in dry periods. Although the entire canyon of Grdoselski stream in this part is of exceptional beauty because it hides numerous beautiful rapids, lakes, the remains of ancient mills and smaller waterfalls (the most attractive of which is Črni puč), the trail is not marked or secured. In wet weather, it is extremely slippery, and in some places you have to wade through vegetation and wade through water.

Moving through the canyon is solely at your own risk and is not recommended without proper equipment.

If you continue along the road, at the fork towards Kras Grdoselski, the macadam road leads to another special waterfall - Pećina. Almost 20 meters high, it falls over the opening of an enchanting cave where there is a spring (CAUTION! The water is not for drinking).
