The trumpeter and flugelhorn player was born in 1981 in Pula. He earned his master's degree in jazz in 2017 at the jazz department of the "Giuseppe Tartini" Music Academy in Trieste, in the class of Prof. Klaus Gesing. He has been involved in music and actively performing for over 20 years, but since 2011, he has dedicated himself exclusively to jazz music. In 2008, he joined the Big Band Pula, and became a member of the JazzIstra orchestra in 2014. As a composer and soloist, he made his debut in 2017 as part of the project "New Compositions for the HRT Jazz Orchestra" with the piece "Crne ruki" (Black Hands).

In the same year, he became a member of the Porto Ethno Orchestra, which performed at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg in 2018, aiming to preserve traditional Croatian music in contemporary jazz arrangements.

He collaborates with saxophonist Denis Razumović on the project Mikuljan&Razz Wind Factory. He leads the Robert Mikuljan Quintet, which brings together some of the best musicians from the Croatian jazz scene.

He collaborates with many renowned Croatian and international jazz musicians in various projects and solo concerts. He is the recipient of the Status Award 2019 in the category of jazz trumpet, awarded by the Croatian Music Union for exceptional artistry and skill in performance.
