With sausage into the EU - International sausage fair
The International Fair "With sausage into the EU" was conceived as an event that promotes the production and sale of traditional sausage products at a unique location in the center of Istria, in Sveti Petar u Šumi, the greatest Croatian "town of sausages".
The fair will be held at the traditional venues, in the Sports Centre and on the main Town Square in Sveti Peter u Šumi, while the Croatian Sausages and Salami Festival and the awarding of prizes to the best sausages and salami will be held in the Croatian Sausage House the day before the opening of the Fair.
The Fair will see various programs, gourmet and entertainment events, the election of the "sausage knights", a musical program, attractions, and gastronomic events dedicated to sausages and other traditional specialties. The seventh world championship in sausage stuffing ‘na beku’ will be held during the fair, and the national tradition will be presented in the best possible way at various Fair venues.
The main organizer of the event is the Municipality of Sveti Petar u Šumi with the support of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, various Ministries, the County of Istria, diverse associations, and numerous sponsors and supporters.
We desire to encourage the consumption and enjoyment of traditional dry-cured meat products in future times, with the idea to make Sveti Petar u Šumi, the homeland of sausages boasting six approved facilities for the production of dry-cured meat products, a permanent gathering place for the lovers of dry-cured meat products from the country and abroad.
