Boljun Swings to the Rhythm of Jazz – Concert and Jam Session with the Sonja Domitrović Quartet

 

 

On Sunday, September 06, starting at 8:00 PM, as part of the Central Istria Tourist Board's concert programme, the Sonja Domitrović Quartet will take the stage. The ensemble is led by one of Croatia's most respected jazz saxophonists and composers.

Sonja Domitrović is a prominent figure on the Croatian jazz scene, renowned for her distinctive sound, expressive improvisation, and original compositions that blend contemporary jazz with a wide range of musical influences. She holds a degree in jazz saxophone and has performed at numerous festivals and concert venues in Croatia and abroad, collaborating with acclaimed Croatian and international musicians. Her work is characterized by creativity, artistic freedom, and the strong musical connection shared among the members of her ensemble.

Joining Sonja Domitrović are outstanding jazz musicians whose experience and virtuosity shape the quartet's rich and dynamic sound. The audience can look forward to an evening of original compositions, contemporary arrangements of jazz standards, and captivating improvisations that make every performance a unique experience.

The concert in Boljun also marks the grand finale of this year's Central Istria Music Experience. Following the performance, a jam session will bring together musicians who performed at the previous concerts throughout the series. Visitors will also have the chance to meet and socialize with the musicians, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and discovering firsthand what makes jazz so special.
