Tourist board of Central Istria was allocated with €18,610.00

 

Croatian Tourist Board allocated Tourist board of Central Istria with €18,610.00 in financial
support from the Fund for Tourism Underdeveloped Areas and the Continent. With the
aforementioned support the project Bench with a story will be co-financed, which will offer guests of central Istria an additional reason to come to this area.

 

Tourist board of Central Istria works hard to enrich the content of its destination by offering
guests an additional reason to come. The value of our projects was once again recognized by
the Croatian Tourist Board, which allocated TBCI with €18,610.00 from the Fund for Touristic
Underdeveloped Areas and the Continent through a Public tender for the allocation of
funds for regional tourist board projects in the touristically underdeveloped areas and the
continent, for project Škanj sa štorijon / Bench with a story.
Bench with a story is inspired by our promotional film "Central Istria – Dare to Explore" at
the beginning of which a grandfather reads a book to his grandchildren by the fire, passing
on local legends to them. The aforementioned benches will tell the history of central Istria to
all visitors of our destination at nine locations - nine LGUs that comprise the area of the TZ of
central Istria.

They will be benches for resting and getting to know history because they will tell the
specific stories of the place where they are located, and they will look like an open book.
We believe that our benches will interest visitors in the rich heritage of central Istria and
help preserve numerous legends and stories from oblivion. Also, with this project, we
encourage spending time in nature and improve the offer of active tourism in our region.
