The settlement located at the foot of the Učka on a fertile field at 590 metres above sea level is sometimes called Kraljevski Brest by the locals in order to emphasise the difference from another Brest (below Žbevnica). Brest is located within the Učka Nature Park, at the foot of Šebrn hill and conceals one of the largest Istrian waterfalls. However, you can only enjoy its 25 metres during the rainy periods. The cemetery also hosts the 17^th century Church of the Holy Cross, built on the site of an older church. The nearby lookout/rest area offers a view over Boljun and surroundings.
