Dolenja Vas

The first mention of Nidrdorff (Niederdorf) was in 1523 in the urbarium of Lupoglava manor, but it existed earlier as a rural part of the Lupoglav castle (together with Gorenja Vas). After P. Kružić, the owners of the manor were the Sincovich, Eggenberg, and Brigido families. The parish church of St. Martin was built in 1808 (for Pompeo Brigido, owner of Lupoglava manor) on the site of the previous church from the 16th century, as evidenced by a Glagolitic inscription with the names of the master builders, parish priest, and parishioners (1551). There is a small church of St. John the Evangelist from 1581 in the cemetery. The population is engaged in agriculture and livestock farming.
