A village with 250 inhabitants, offering a beautiful view of central Istria, located 15 km north of Pazin. Situated above the Butoniga valley and below a hill where the church of Saint Anthony of Padua (now dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows) is located, after which the hill is named Padova, hence the Italian name of the village Villa Padova. Due to its proximity to the border between the Pazin County and Venetian Istria, Kašćerga often suffered, the land occasionally remained uncultivated and abandoned, and new inhabitants were resettled on several occasions. The parish church of Saint Mark dates back to 1686.
From Kašćerga originated the painter Antun from Padua (16th century), who adorned several churches in Istrian towns with frescoes (the most famous ones are in the church of Saint Roch in Draguć).
